We were beyond excited when guest Keegan Taylor asked us to help him plan the perfect Victoria Falls proposal.
Here are his memories from his special day…
“In January, I did a site visit with Alan, the general manager, to see if Stanley and Livingstone could accommodate my surprise proposal to Danielle, my girlfriend of 5 years.
The proposal needed to be unique and outside the box otherwise Danielle would “smell a rat”. Alan showed me several different options as we tossed out ideas, and when I left, I knew that this was the perfect place for the proposal.
On the day of the proposal, I nervously arrived at midday from Johannesburg. The S&L team got to work straight away, setting up the location in the garden and putting the bubbly on ice. They were kind enough to give me another room nearby to hide out in until sunset and the big question.
Under the guise of meeting “investors” at a 2-day business seminar at Stanley and Livingstone; Danielle was collected from Victoria Falls and transferred to the hotel. From the transfer driver to the receptionist, to the waiters; the Stanely and Livingstone steam were fantastic in playing along with the surprise.
Danielle sat in the garden, sipping champagne and taking pictures of the wildlife at the waterhole; when the waitress walked up to her and delivered a letter from me. Emotional and confused, Danielle looked behind her and there I was on one knee.
“Danielle, will you marry me?”
To which she thankfully replied… “Yes!”
And a few moments later “where are the investors?”
To Alan, Clive and the whole Stanley & Livingstone team involved; thank you for going above and beyond in making our day the most special one yet.
